Installation Guidelines

1. 1 De-energize Panel: Verify the control cabinet is completely de-energized and follow all applicable Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures before beginning work.
2. 2 Mount Switch: Securely mount the SCALANCE switch onto a standard 35mm DIN rail within the enclosure, ensuring adequate clearance for ventilation and cable access.
3. 3 Connect Functional Ground: Connect the functional earth (FE) terminal on the switch to the cabinet's equipotential bonding rail using a low-impedance conductor.
4. 4 Connect Power Supply: Connect the specified DC power source to the power supply terminal block, observing correct polarity. If redundant power supplies are used, connect both.
5. 5 Connect Network Cables: Connect shielded Ethernet cables to the RJ45 ports. If using media modules, install them into the slots and connect the corresponding cables. Ensure proper cable routing and strain relief.
