  2. 2 De-energize Equipment: Before making any connections, ensure all related power sources (24 V DC and PoE network switches) are de-energized and locked out per established safety protocols.
  3. 3 Mount the Device: Securely fasten the SCALANCE W788-2 unit to the designated mounting surface using appropriate hardware for the environment (e.g., vibration-resistant bolts).
  4. 4 Establish Ground Connection: Connect the device's functional earth/grounding terminal to the main system or cabinet ground using a low-impedance conductor to ensure proper electrical safety and signal integrity.
  5. 5 Connect Antennas: Attach the required antennas to the six N-CON ports. Ensure connections are tightened to the correct torque specification to maintain the IP65 rating.
  6. 6 Connect Ethernet/PoE: Using an industrial-grade M12 A-coded Ethernet cable, connect the device to the network. If using PoE, ensure the switch port provides the required power.
