The ATS48D17Y is a robust soft starter from the Altistart 48 range, engineered to provide smooth acceleration and deceleration for three-phase asynchronous motors. This unit is designed to mitigate mechanical stress on drive trains and reduce high-current surges during motor startup, thereby protecting the electrical network and extending the lifespan of mechanical components.

With a nominal current rating of 14 A and a wide supply voltage range of 208–690 V AC, this soft starter is suitable for motor power ratings ranging from 4 kW to 15 kW. Installation Guidelines

• Mounting: Install the soft starter vertically in an electrical cabinet to ensure optimal airflow. Leave sufficient clearance (typically 10 cm) above and below the unit to prevent heat buildup.
• Wiring: Connect the line supply to terminals (1/L1, 3/L2, 5/L3) and the motor leads to (2/T1, 4/T2, 6/T3). Use suitably rated cables based on the 14 A nominal current.
• Bypass Contactor: Many installations benefit from an external bypass contactor to remove the soft starter from the circuit after the motor has reached full speed, reducing internal heating.
• Grounding: Securely connect the enclosure to the protective earth (PE) system to ensure EMC compliance and operator safety.
• Commissioning: Use the integrated keypad or commissioning software to configure the starting parameters (acceleration ramp, current limit) specific to the motor load.
