Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK AND EQUIPMENT DAMAGE

Installation must be performed by qualified personnel only. Disconnect and lock out all power sources before installation or servicing. This device contains electrostatically sensitive components; handle with appropriate ESD precautions.

  1. 1 De-energize System: Before installation, ensure all power to the control cabinet is turned off and locked out according to safety procedures. Verify the absence of voltage.
  2. 2 Mount Securely: Mount the Microbox PC onto a standard DIN rail or a flat panel surface within the control cabinet. Ensure adequate clearance for ventilation and cable access. Do not block any ventilation openings on the chassis.
  3. 3 Establish Ground Connection: Connect the chassis grounding terminal to the main protective earth (PE) busbar of the cabinet using a low-impedance conductor. A reliable ground connection is essential for noise immunity and safety.
  4. 4 Connect Peripherals and Power: Connect all required interface cables (PROFIBUS, RS232, Ethernet, etc.). Use shielded cables for communication lines and ensure shields are properly terminated. Connect the specified DC power supply to the power input terminals, observing correct polarity.
  5. 5 System Power-Up: After verifying all connections, remove the lockout/tagout and re-apply power to the cabinet. The IPC should boot into the pre-installed operating system. Proceed with software configuration and commissioning.
