The CP6701-0000-0050 belongs to the CP67xx economy panel series. It serves as a direct upgrade path for legacy CP66xx series panels. When migrating to this model, ensure that your TwinCAT licenses are configured for Platform Level 40. Note that older Windows CE images from x86-based legacy panels are not compatible; this unit requires a modern x64 or x86 image compiled specifically for the Intel Atom® E38xx architecture.
When mounting the Panel PC in sealed, non-ventilated enclosures, maintain a minimum clearance of 50 mm above and below the rear cover to facilitate natural convection. Continuous operation near the upper thermal limit of 55 degC without adequate cabinet ventilation can trigger internal thermal throttling of the Intel Atom processor, which may introduce cycle-time jitter in high-speed TwinCAT tasks.
Always establish a low-impedance functional earth connection using the dedicated grounding bolt on the rear sheet-steel cover. In environments with high electromagnetic noise (such as proximity to variable frequency drives), use shielded 24 V DC power cables and ground the shield at the cabinet entry point to prevent transient noise from disrupting the resistive touch controller.
Isolate all electrical power sources before initiating physical installation, wiring, or maintenance. Verify that the 24 V DC power supply is locked out and tagged out. Failure to completely de-energize the system can result in electrical shock, equipment damage, or unexpected machine movement.
Prepare the mounting cutout in the control cabinet door or console panel matching the specified dimensions for the 5.7-inch housing.
Ensure the front sealing gasket is clean, intact, and correctly positioned on the rear of the aluminum front bezel.
Insert the Panel PC from the front into the cutout, ensuring it is centered and square.
Secure the unit from the rear using the integrated pull-out clamping levers. Tighten the clamping screws evenly to compress the front gasket and achieve an IP65 seal.
Connect the functional ground wire to the rear grounding stud, then insert the CFast card containing the boot image into the dedicated slot.
Connect the 24 V DC power connector, network cables, and peripheral interfaces before energizing the system.
