This hardware configuration utilizes identical cutout profiles to older Mitsubishi Electric 5.7-inch models, making it a drop-in replacement. Project screens constructed in older GT Designer software versions can be migrated to GT Works3 and compiled for the GT1055 Series with minor adjustment to communications parameters.
STN displays feature passive liquid crystal matrices, which are sensitive to high temperatures. Operation at or near 50 degC will reduce response speed and alter viewing contrast. Always utilize physical ventilation fans or cooling systems in control cabinets if the ambient environmental temperature consistently exceeds 40 degC.
To prevent common RS-422/485 communication timeouts (often manifesting as system alarm code errors), establish a dedicated Class-D ground. Do not daisy-chain the Frame Ground (FG) terminal directly with high-frequency noise-producing devices like Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
CRITICAL WARNING:
Always ensure all primary and auxiliary power sources feeding the control cabinet are fully locked out and de-energized before mounting or wiring the terminal. Failing to isolate power can cause immediate short-circuits, catastrophic motherboard damage, or dangerous electrical shock to personnel.
Ensure the panel cutout dimensions match the standard 5.7-inch installation template (137 mm wide by 103 mm high) and that the sealing gasket is correctly seated around the HMI bezel.
Insert the display terminal through the front panel cut-out. Securely fasten the included mounting metal brackets into the slots on the top and bottom of the unit, tightening to the recommended torque specification to maintain the IP67F seal.
Connect the isolated 24VDC power supply to the terminal block. Ensure polarity is correct (24VDC to +, 0V to -) and wire the ground terminal directly to the enclosure's backplate ground bar.
