What is the difference between the "AA01" and "AA02" versions?
The 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 is the direct predecessor to the 0AA2. While they share core specifications, the 0AA2 features updated internal components for better noise immunity. They are generally backward compatible in most SIMODRIVE rack configurations.
Does this module require a separate line reactor?
Yes. To ensure compliance with EMC standards and to protect the module from mains transients, a commutating reactor (line reactor) specifically sized for the 10 kW UE module must be installed on the AC input side.
What happens if the internal mains contactor fails to close?
If the contactor does not engage, the DC link will not charge, and the drive system will report a "Mains Fault" or "DC Link Undervoltage." Ensure the 24V supply to the contactor terminals is stable and the enabling signals (Terminals 63/64) are active.
DC Link Busbar Connection: When installing the 6SN1145-1AA01-0AA1 into a drive group, ensure the DC link busbars are securely tightened with the correct torque. Poor contact on the busbars can cause localized overheating and catastrophic failure of the drive lineup during high-current peaks.
Thermal Management: If utilizing the external cooling (through-hole) method, ensure the cutout in the cabinet backplane is sealed with the original Siemens gasket to maintain the IP54 rating of the external section.
