Description

Fully threaded 1/2-20 UNF steel probe body (Option 00) with a 2.0 in case length (Option 20) and 1.0 m total length (Option 10) — 330701-00-20-10-02-00 is an eddy-current non-contact 3300 XL 11 mm proximity probe configuration. This assembly operates within a 3300 XL 11 mm transducer system to measure shaft vibration, axial position, and rotor movement on rotating machinery. Featuring standard triaxial cable and a ClickLoc miniature coaxial connector without a connector protector (Option 02), this configuration is suited for installations where hazardous area agency approvals are not required (Option 00).

Compared to alternative configurations such as the 330702 probe which includes stainless steel armor, or alternative segments that feature integrated fluorosilicone connector protectors, this non-armored probe is used in clean environments with standard conduit routing. The 1.0 m total length option pairs with standard 3300 XL 4.0 m extension cables to form a complete 5.0 m system, matching the calibration of a standard 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor Sensor.

Features

  • Thread configuration: 1/2-20 UNF-2A thread configuration with 0.0 in unthreaded length (fully threaded case) and 2.0 in overall case length.
  • Physical protection: Standard triaxial cable construction without external stainless steel armor, facilitating routing through standard protective conduit.
  • Connection type: Gold-plated miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector provides solid electrical termination to the extension cable.
  • Standard length: 1.0 meter (3.3 feet) overall length, designed for integration into 5.0-meter transducer system configurations.
  • General area version: Option 00 configuration is selected for industrial applications where hazardous area certifications are not required.

Applications

  • Shaft vibration and axial position measurements on rotating machinery.
  • Rotor movement and thermal expansion monitoring in industrial steam turbines and gas turbines.
  • Fluid-film bearing clearance measurements in centrifugal compressors, generators, and large pumps.
  • Machinery protection monitoring in industrial facilities, power generation plants, and water treatment utilities.

Installation Guidelines

  • Mounting: Mount in a threaded bracket or machine housing. Tighten the 1/2-20 UNF thread with a torque wrench to the recommended 15.2 N-m (133 in-lb). Do not exceed the maximum rated torque of 45.2 N-m (400 in-lb) to avoid casing deformation.
  • Cable routing: Maintain a minimum cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to prevent damage to the FEP-insulated triaxial construction. Route the standard non-armored cable through protective conduit to shield from physical damage, abrasive wear, and mechanical stress.
  • Connector connection: Join the miniature male ClickLoc connector on the probe cable to the female ClickLoc connector of the extension cable. Hand-tighten until snug. To prevent oil and moisture intrusion, install a connector protector or wrap with self-fusing silicone tape if exposed to fluids.
  • Probe gap: Set the probe-to-target gap using a physical feeler gauge or by measuring the DC output voltage of the Proximitor Sensor. The typical recommended gap of 2.5 mm (100 mils) corresponds to a DC voltage of approximately -10 Vdc.

Compliance and Certifications

  • Electromagnetic Compatibility: Complies with European Union EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, meeting standard requirements EN 61000-6-2 (Immunity for Industrial Environments) and EN 61000-6-4 (Emissions for Industrial Environments).
  • RoHS Compliance: Complies with European Union RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU.
  • FCC Part 15: Complies with United States FCC Part 15 requirements.

Technical Datasheet

Bently Nevada 330701-00-20-10-02-00 Sonde de proximité 3300 XL 11 mm

What does the unthreaded length of 00 represent on this probe?

The 00 option represents an unthreaded length of 0.0 inches, meaning the 1/2-20 UNF probe body is fully threaded over its entire 2.0-inch case length to provide maximum installation flexibility.

Does this probe require an extension cable to complete the transducer system?

Yes, the 1.0-meter probe must be connected to a 4.0-meter 3300 XL 11 mm extension cable to achieve a total 5.0-meter system length, matching the calibration of a 5.0-meter Proximitor Sensor.

Is the 330701-00-20-10-02-00 probe suitable for hazardous areas?

No, this specific configuration includes the Option 00 approval, which means it does not carry hazardous area certifications (such as ATEX, IECEx, or CSA) and is intended for general-purpose/non-classified environments.

Can this standard cable probe be routed through tight bends?

The cable has a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 inch). Because this probe lacks external stainless steel armor, it should be routed through protective conduit in applications where abrasive physical wear or mechanical strain is expected.
