Description

Option 00 (0.0 in unthreaded length) and Option 20 (2.0 in case length) specify this 3300 XL 11 mm proximity probe configuration with integrated FEP-jacketed stainless steel armor and a 5.0-meter cable length — 330708-00-20-50-02-00. This non-contact eddy-current displacement sensor is used for turbine and compressor shaft vibration, rotor position, and critical rotating machinery monitoring. It operates as part of a 3300 XL 11 mm monitoring chain, pairing with a matching 330780 Proximitor sensor without requiring an intermediary extension cable to maintain calibrated system length.

The 330708 model features a 5/8-18 UNF-2A thread design with standard mount and stainless steel armor. Its patented TipLoc molding method secures the polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip to the AISI 304 stainless steel probe body. The cable-to-tip connection is mechanically secured via the CableLoc design, offering up to 330 N (75 lb) of pull strength. The gold-plated brass ClickLoc connectors lock into position, preventing loose connections in demanding industrial environments.

Features

  • Option 00 unthreaded length specifies a fully threaded 5/8-18 UNF-2A case with no unthreaded section.
  • Option 20 overall case length provides a 2.0-inch steel housing optimized for standard mount configurations.
  • Option 50 specifies a 5.0-meter total probe cable length, eliminating the need for an extension cable when paired with a 5.0-meter Proximitor sensor.
  • Option 02 provides a gold-plated brass ClickLoc coaxial connector on a standard-grade cable.
  • Flexible AISI 302 stainless steel armor with an outer FEP jacket shields the coaxial probe cable from physical damage and oil exposure.
  • TipLoc molding process creates a high-integrity bond between the polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) tip and the AISI 304 stainless steel case.
  • CableLoc anchor design delivers up to 330 N of maximum rated pull strength from the probe case to the lead.

Applications

  • Shaft vibration and axial position measurement on high-speed turbines and compressors.
  • Rotor thrust and radial displacement monitoring in power generation and petrochemical installations.
  • Standard-mount machinery protection systems utilizing 11 mm eddy-current transducer chains.

Connections and Interfaces

Connector Component Description
Coaxial Male Plug Miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector with gold-plated brass body, connects to 3300 XL Proximitor or matching extension cable.

Installation Guidelines

  • Probe Thread Engagement: Maximum thread engagement length for a 5/8-18 UNF case is 0.938 inches. Exceeding this limit may cause binding during installation.
  • Torque Limits: Tighten the 5/8-18 UNF case to a recommended torque of 15.2 N-m (133 in-lb). Do not exceed the maximum rating of 45.2 N-m (400 in-lb) to prevent case deformation.
  • Bend Radius: Route the armored cable ensuring a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to protect the internal FEP insulation and coaxial shield.
  • Moisture Protection: Although the probe tip is designed to withstand 100% condensing humidity, protect the coaxial connector from direct moisture or turbine oil. Connector protectors or silicone self-fusing tape must be installed on the female end of the connection.
  • System Length Match: This 5.0-meter probe must be connected directly to a matching 5.0-meter 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor. Using an extension cable with a 5.0 m probe is not supported as it would violate the 5.0 m system length calibration.

Compliance and Certifications

  • EMC Directive: European Community Directive 2014/30/EU (Standards: EN 61000-6-2 for Industrial Immunity, EN 61000-6-4 for Industrial Emissions).
  • RoHS Directive: European Community Directive 2011/65/EU.
  • FCC: Complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules for electromagnetic compatibility.
  • Hazardous Area Approvals: None (Option 00 specifies that approvals are not required).
