Description

330907-05-30-10-10-02-05: 3300 NSv reverse mount proximity probe with M10x1 metric threads, featuring a fixed unthreaded length of 5.08 mm (0.20 in) and a case length of 30.48 mm (1.20 in). This specialized eddy-current sensor is part of the 3300 XL NSv Proximity Transducer System, engineered for non-contact displacement measurements in machinery with narrow clearances or compact target geometries. The reverse mount configuration is installed from the opposite side of standard probes, facilitating integration into tight machine casings where external access is restricted.

This probe configuration includes a 1.0 meter (39 inches) standard coaxial cable without armor, terminated with a gold-plated miniature coaxial ClickLoc male connector. It operates in conjunction with a 3300 NSv extension cable and a 3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor to provide an Average Scale Factor (ASF) of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) over a 1.5 mm (60 mils) linear range. Designed with robust chemical resistance and high structural integrity, this transducer system is typically applied on fluid-filmed bearing machines with small shaft diameters or confined side-view clearances.

Features

  • M10x1 metric reverse mount body style is suited for machinery envelopes with tight mechanical clearance constraints.
  • Fixed probe case dimensions with 5.08 mm (0.20 in) of unthreaded length and 30.48 mm (1.20 in) of case length.
  • Total probe length of 1.0 meter (39 inches) utilizing a standard, unarmored 75 ohm coaxial cable.
  • Miniature coaxial ClickLoc male connector ensures a secure, locking mechanical coupling that resists vibration-induced loosening.
  • TipLoc molding process provides a high-strength bond between the polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) tip and the stainless steel body.
  • Agency Approval Option 05 provides multiple safety certifications for installation in hazardous area classifications.

Applications

  • Radial vibration and radial position measurements on high-speed rotating shafts smaller than 51 mm (2.0 inches).
  • Axial (thrust) position measurements on small flat surfaces down to 15 mm (0.6 inches) in diameter.
  • Centrifugal air compressors, process gas compressors, and refrigeration machinery with restricted counterbore access.
  • Tachometer, zero-speed, and phase reference (Keyphasor) monitoring systems.
  • Aeroderivative gas turbines and compact gearboxes requiring metric thread mounting.

Installation Guidelines

  • Mounting Arrangement: Ensure the M10x1 threaded housing is clean. The probe threads into the casing or mount from the inside of the machine cavity or via a specific reverse-mount adapter.
  • Torque Limits: Tighten reverse mount probes to a recommended installation torque of 7.5 N m (66 in lb). Do not exceed the maximum rated torque of 22.6 N m (200 in lb) to prevent thread shear or casing damage.
  • Target Gap Setting: Calibrate the probe gap to approximately 1.0 mm (40 mils) from the target surface at the middle of the linear range (-7.0 Vdc to -9.0 Vdc output).
  • Cable Protection: Do not exceed the minimum cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 inch). Use connector protectors on the probe-to-extension cable junction to prevent process fluid or moisture entry.

Compliance and Certifications

  • CE Mark: Fully approved under the Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Directive.
  • Hazardous Area Approvals: Certified for intrinsically safe installations under ATEX/IECEx (Ex ia IIC T5...T1 Ga) and North American Division classes when used with matching safety barriers or galvanic isolators.
