Description

330908-22-31-10-01-05: 3300 NSv proximity probe, 3/8-24 UNF thread, Option 22 unthreaded length of 2.2 inches, Option 31 overall case length of 3.1 inches, Option 10 total length of 1.0 meter, Option 01 ClickLoc connector with connector protector, and Option 05 Multiple Approvals. This specific configuration features a 3/8-24 UNF thread without armor, designed for non-contact displacement measurements in areas with restricted clearance or tight installation requirements. The 3300 NSv system is optimized for centrifugal air compressors, refrigeration compressors, process gas compressors, and other small-bore machinery or high-speed equipment with limited target geometry, where standard 5 mm or 8 mm probes cannot be used.

As a key element of the 3300 XL NSv proximity transducer system, this probe operates in conjunction with a 330930 extension cable and a 330980 Proximitor sensor. Unlike standard 3300 XL systems, the NSv series is specifically engineered for tight spaces, small shaft diameters (under 51 mm or 2 in), and compact targets (under 15 mm or 0.6 in). The inclusion of Option 01 provides a standard cable with a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector and an integrated connector protector, providing robust protection against liquid intrusion at connection points, while Option 05 ensures compatibility with major international hazardous area standards (including CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals).

Features

  • Option 22 unthreaded length: Provides 2.2 inches of unthreaded probe body length for flexible mounting depth adjustment.
  • Option 31 overall case length: Features a 3.1-inch overall 3/8-24 UNF-2A threaded case length.
  • Option 10 total length: Integrated 1.0-meter (39-inch) length of 75-ohm FEP-insulated coaxial cable.
  • Option 01 connector and cable: Fitted with a Miniature Coaxial ClickLoc connector and an integrated fluorosilicone connector protector.
  • Option 05 agency approvals: Certified for hazardous areas with Multiple Approvals, including CSA, ATEX, and IECEx.
  • Compact unarmored design: Unarmored configuration is optimal for restricted clearance machine casings.
  • Chemical resistance: Built with a high-performance polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip and AISI 304 stainless steel case for demanding process environments.

Applications

  • Centrifugal air compressors and refrigeration compressors.
  • Radial vibration and radial position measurements on high-speed shafts smaller than 51 mm (2 in).
  • Axial (thrust) position measurements on flat targets smaller than 15 mm (0.6 in).
  • Tachometer, zero speed, and phase reference (Keyphasor) measurements.
  • Small-bore machinery and aeroderivative gas turbines with tight envelope restrictions.

Connections and Interfaces

This probe is equipped with an integrated miniature coaxial male ClickLoc connector on the cable end. It provides low-loss 75-ohm transmission of high-frequency radio signals between the probe tip and the extension cable. The gold-plated brass connector features an interface that locks securely in place to prevent loosening from vibration. The installed fluorosilicone connector protector seals the connection point against moisture, dirt, and process fluids.

Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure the coaxial cable is routed with a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to prevent transmission loss or physical damage.
  • Apply the recommended mounting torque of 11.3 N m (100 in-lb) when installing the 3/8-24 UNF-2A probe case. Never exceed the absolute maximum rated torque of 33.9 N m (300 in-lb).
  • Tighten the coaxial ClickLoc connectors finger-tight, then torque to 0.56 N m (5 in-lb) of torque using proper installation tools if required.
  • Limit the thread engagement of the 3/8-24 thread to 0.563 in (14.3 mm) to prevent binding or thread deformation.
  • Slide the provided fluorosilicone connector protector completely over the connection point to isolate the coaxial interface from exposure to machine fluids and humidity.

Compliance and Certifications

  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Complies with European Community Directive 2014/30/EU standards EN 61000-6-2 (Industrial Immunity) and EN 61000-6-4 (Industrial Emissions).
  • Hazardous Area Approvals (Option 05): Certified under CSA/cNRTLus, ATEX, and IECEx for intrinsic safety and non-incendive installations.
