The IE-SW-BL06-4POE-2ST is part of Weidmuller's Basic Line industrial switch series. If single-mode fiber infrastructure is deployed on-site, the SC-connector or single-mode variants of this series should be utilized to match the optical budget and cable characteristics. It is fully backward compatible with standard IEEE 802.3af (15.4W) devices, automatically scaling power delivery based on connected PD (Powered Device) negotiation.
When operating at the maximum ambient temperature limit of 60 degC with all four PoE+ ports delivering full 30W loads, ensure a minimum of 20mm lateral clearance from adjacent heat-generating DIN-rail devices. Enclosed control cabinets must have active ventilation to prevent localized thermal buildup. Note that current draw increases significantly at 24 V DC (up to 5.5 A) compared to 48 V DC (2.6 A); size your power supply and wiring gauges accordingly to prevent voltage drops.
Always clean the ST-Duplex fiber connectors with an approved optical cleaning tool before insertion. Even minor dust contamination can cause severe signal attenuation over the 5 km optical path. Ensure the IP30 aluminum housing is grounded using the integrated grounding screw to a low-impedance earth ground to protect internal circuitry from electrostatic discharge (ESD) and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Snap the switch securely onto the TS35 DIN rail, ensuring the top hook engages first before pressing the bottom latch into place.
Connect a dedicated grounding wire from the ground screw on the switch chassis to the local protective earth ground point.
Wire the 4-pin removable terminal block with your primary (V1) and optional redundant (V2) power lines, then secure the terminal screws.
Insert the RJ45 Ethernet cables into ports 1 through 4 and connect the ST-Duplex fiber cables to the optical ports.
