Grounding and Shielding

  • Ensure the sensor housing is insulated from the underlying structure or connected to the designated system ground to eliminate potential ground loop interference.
  • Maintain the continuous shield from the probe connection back to the monitor panel, grounding the shield only at the monitor common point.

Probe Gap Adjustment

  • Adjust the initial physical gap between the target material and the probe tip until the output voltage reads approximately -10.0 Vdc, corresponding to the midpoint of the linear operating range.

Cable Routing and Physical Protection

  • Route all interconnecting coaxial cables away from high-voltage machinery lines or structural paths prone to extreme mechanical vibration.
