Description

The Bently Nevada 136719-01 (part of the 3500/04-01 assembly) is an Earthing I/O Module designed for intrinsically safe (IS) ground reference management within the 3500 Machinery Protection System. Installed directly into the rear of the 3500 system rack, the 136719-01 provides the essential intrinsically safe earth connection through the 3500 system backplane to interface with internal barrier monitor I/O modules. This configuration enables safe, direct interconnection with approved field transducers—such as 3300 XL Proximitor sensors, Velomitor sensors, thermocouples, and RTDs—operating in hazardous environments without requiring external barriers or compromising system performance.

Installation Guidelines

  • Rack Slot Allocation: The 136719-01 IS Earthing Module requires a dedicated monitor position in the rack, which limits a standard 19-inch rack to 13 monitor positions.
  • Positioning: Locate the IS Earthing Module in a rack position that allows easy access for routine online maintenance. When positioned between internal barrier I/O modules, allow a minimum of two rack positions to facilitate online access.
  • Requirement: Any 3500 rack containing internal barrier I/O modules must be equipped with a 3500/04-01 IS Earthing Module to provide the backplane IS earth path.
  • Wiring Separation: Route hazardous area field wiring above the 3500 rack and safe area wiring below to maintain a minimum physical separation of 50 mm (2 in).
