Description

The NTAI06 is a 16-channel analog input termination unit designed to terminate field wiring in process control applications. It consists of a single printed circuit board that mounts directly in an NFTP01 Field Termination Panel.

The unit routes analog field signals to compatible slave modules, including the IMASI03, as well as the IMMFP01, IMMFP02, and IMMFP03 Multi-Function Processors.

Each channel can be configured independently for several analog input types, including differential voltage, single-ended voltage, system-powered or externally powered 4–20 mA current loops, thermocouples, millivolt signals, and 3-wire RTDs.

Integrated cold junction reference RTDs provide thermocouple compensation. On-board transient and surge protection helps maintain signal integrity and protect connected system components.

Installation Guidelines

  1. Wear a static-grounding wrist strap when handling the termination unit.

  2. Use a static-dissipating work surface when working with exposed electronic circuitry.

  3. Disconnect cabinet power and I/O power before wiring or servicing the unit.

  4. Remove assigned slave modules or termination modules before installing connecting cables.

  5. Insert the termination unit tabs into the outer edge slots of the NFTP01 panel.

  6. Secure the unit using two No. 10 screws.

  7. Install the chassis ground using a No. 10 self-tapping screw and an external star lock washer.

  8. Configure channel jumpers J1 through J64 for the required voltage, current, RTD, or thermocouple input type.

  9. Complete all jumper configuration before applying power.

  10. Secure the RTD cover over the terminal blocks when thermocouple inputs are used.

  11. Correct RTD cover installation is required for accurate cold junction compensation.

  12. Connect power wiring using 14 AWG wire.

  13. Connect E1 to the +24 VDC supply.

  14. Connect E2 to the DC bus bar or I/O COM connection.

Description

The NTAI06 is a 16-channel analog input termination unit designed to terminate field wiring in process control applications. It consists of a single printed circuit board that mounts directly in an NFTP01 Field Termination Panel.

The unit routes analog field signals to compatible slave modules, including the IMASI03, as well as the IMMFP01, IMMFP02, and IMMFP03 Multi-Function Processors.
