The V680-HS52-R is directly distinguished from the standard V680-HS52 by its flexible robotics-grade cabling. If you are retrofitting a static conveyor line where the cabling is secured inside static conduit, the standard non-R model may be deployed; however, for dynamic, moving, or pivoting axes, the "-R" suffix model is critical to prevent cable fatigue and internal copper strand fractures. It must be paired with compatible V680 Series RFID Controllers (such as the V680-CA5D01-V2 or V680-CH series).
When flush-mounting this M22 cylindrical antenna, beware of metallic detuning. Surrounding metal acts as a parasitic load, reducing the transmission field density and shortening the effective read/write distance. If the antenna must be recessed into a steel frame or aluminum bracket, ensure you maintain the OEM-specified non-metallic clearance zone around the radiating head to avoid communication dropouts or read retries.
Note that while the antenna portion features robust IP67G oil-resistance rating, the connector end interface is non-waterproof. This connection joint must be housed inside an IP-rated junction box or control cabinet if deployed in environments subject to direct washdowns or cutting fluid mist. Always route the antenna's flexible signal cable away from high-power alternating current (AC) lines and variable frequency drive (VFD) output wires to prevent electromagnetic noise from degrading RF data packets.
Ensure the host V680 controller is fully de-energized before connecting or disconnecting the antenna. Hot-swapping the RF connector can cause internal electrical transients, which may permanently damage the transceiver head circuits or corrupt active data on the carrier tags.
Mount the M22 antenna body into its bracket, ensuring any metallic structures remain outside the designated metal-free boundary surrounding the front sensing face.
