Description

The ABB IMCPM02 is a microprocessor-based single-slot wide interface module designed for the INFI 90 system. This device connects the CTT02 Configuration and Tuning Terminal and/or an engineering work station (EWS) to a single INFI 90 process control unit (PCU). It provides a local, reliable interface within the PCU for comprehensive system configuration, tuning, and diagnostics. The IMCPM02 enables operators to configure, tune, and monitor master modules alongside their respective function blocks. It features direct compatibility with existing Network 90 and INFI 90 systems, serving as a functional replacement for the IMSPM01 Serial Port Module and IMCPM01 Configuration Port Module. The module operates efficiently across PCUs utilizing either a module bus or Controlway architecture.

Installation Guidelines

  • Verify the MMU backplane voltages before installing the module; ensure that older system configurations applying -30 VDC are isolated or that jumper J12 is properly configured to avoid potential equipment damage.
  • Set jumper J12 to short pins 2 and 3 if the module is deployed in a standard INFI 90 system to enable redundant Controlway bus operations.
  • Align the circuit board with the top and bottom guide rails of the module mounting unit slot, sliding the module backward until it sits firmly within the backplane connectors.
  • Tighten the two front concentric faceplate screws by turning them 1/2 turn clockwise to lock the assembly into place.
  • For remote or permanent wiring terminations, route the appropriate NKTU01 or NKTU02 cable from the backplane to the corresponding NIMP01 termination module or NTMP01 termination unit.
  • Ensure cabinet power is entirely disconnected before initiating any external termination unit or module wiring procedures.
