Description

The RDCO-02C is an add-on communication option module designed to handle high-speed data transmission and fieldbus networking within variable speed drive configurations. This module functions as an industrial interface board that establishes DDCS communication channels for the RMIO Motor Control and I/O board or BCU control units. Operating as a bridge for fiber optic connections, the board contains four discrete optical channels (CH0, CH1, CH2, and CH3) used to network overriding systems, local peripheral options, master-follower drive links, and diagnostic PC tools. Equipped with a coated circuit board to ensure protection against environmental degradation , the RDCO-02C provides deterministic signaling and robust noise immunity essential for reliable automated operations in demanding industrial sectors.

Installation Guidelines

  • Safety Rules: Ensure all mains input voltages and external dangerous voltages from control circuits are fully isolated and locked out before initiating work on the system. Always wait 5 minutes for the intermediate circuit capacitors to completely discharge after cutting power.
  • ESD Prevention: The internal board assemblies carry micro-circuits highly susceptible to electrostatic breakdown. Personnel must wear an earthing wrist band when handling the equipment and avoid touching component traces unnecessarily.
  • Mechanical Alignment: Insert the module safely into the designated slot marked with "DDCS" until the plastic clips engage into position. Fasten the two supplied M3x8 screws securely; these provide the structural earth path and interconnect module and board grounds to fulfill local EMC requirements.
  • Optical Handling: Do not touch the fiber optic endpoints with bare hands since the interfaces are sensitive to surface dirt. Verify that cable long-term tensile loads remain below 1 N and respect a minimum short-term bend radius of 35 mm.
