Description

Direct connection of SSI encoders to the K-bus system is facilitated by the BECKHOFF KS5051 1-channel SSI encoder interface terminal. This module provides a dedicated interface for absolute positioning systems, receiving differential RS422 signals and supplying them to the higher-level controller via the process image. The KS5051 features a pluggable wiring level, making it highly serviceable for rapid module replacement without disconnecting field wiring.

Operating as a bidirectional unit, this bus terminal supports data transmission rates up to 1 MHz and accommodates variable serial input widths of up to 24 bits.
