Installation Guidelines

  • When drilling and tapping a mounting hole for this 1/4-28 UNF probe, a #3 or larger tap drill is recommended.
  • Avoid exceeding the maximum recommended installation torque of 5.1 N-m (45 in-lb) for 1/4-28 UNF probe cases. The absolute maximum rated torque is 7.3 N-m (65 in-lb).

  • Verify that the combined length of the probe and extension cable equals the designated system length of the Proximitor Sensor (typically 5.0 or 7.0 meters).
