Description

The INNPM12 functions as a high-speed network processing module within the Symphony Enterprise Management and Control System. This unit establishes and manages communication across the high-speed Control Network, or Cnet, which provides an essential data path among Harmony control units (HCU), human system interfaces (HSI), and external computers. Operating in Plant Loop mode, it acts as a slot-compatible system replacement for legacy INLIM03 Loop Interface Modules and INBIM02 Bus Interface Modules, delivering reliable data transfer and processing capability. Through extensive error checking and message acknowledgment, the board secures high system reliability and availability for mission-critical process control data exchange.

Features

  • Coordinates high-speed communication interfaces, including Cnet-to-Cnet, Cnet-to-HCU, and Cnet-to-computer data pathways.
  • Utilizes comprehensive error checking algorithms and message acknowledgment loops to guarantee accurate transmission of critical industrial process data.
  • Operates natively in Plant Loop mode as a modern functional replacement for legacy INLIM03 and INBIM02 communication hardware.
  • Employs dual-channel local communication rates running a 1 Mbaud Controlway and an 83.3 kbaud Module bus.

Applications

  • Symphony Harmony DCS Networks: Managing primary processing channels and node mapping tasks on central communication racks.
  • Plant Loop Communication Bridges: Upgrading legacy network interfaces to support integrated process control highways.
  • Distributed Computer-to-HCU Routing: Interfacing operator console nodes and management computers with local control hardware.
