Installation Guidelines

  • Chassis Mounting: Align the module circuit board with top and bottom chassis guides and slide into any slot until latches engage flush.
  • Static Safeguards: Wear a grounded wriststrap and avoid touching circuit components or connector pins during handling.
  • Battery Maintenance: Connect only a 1756-BA1 battery or 1756-BATM battery module to maintain memory power when chassis power is removed.
  • Serial Cabling: Limit custom RS-232 cable lengths to 15.2 m (50 ft) and connect the cable shield at both connector ends.
  • Power/Hazard Precautions: Ensure power is removed or the location is nonhazardous prior to inserting/removing the controller or connecting serial cabling.
