Description
To facilitate precise energy management and grid analysis directly within the EtherCAT I/O system, the EL3433 power measurement terminal enables comprehensive 3-phase AC power measurement up to 500 V AC and 10 A. This EtherCAT Terminal processes four current and three voltage channels to calculate active power, reactive power, apparent power, energy consumption, power factor (cos phi), and frequency for each phase. Additionally, harmonic analysis up to the 41st harmonic is integrated, allowing users to evaluate grid quality and detect non-linear loads directly inside the control network without external analyzer hardware.
Features
- Direct 3-phase power measurement up to 500 V AC (ULX-N: max. 288 V AC) and 10 A AC.
- Mains-synchronous conversion with 16-bit resolution for precise power analysis.
- Integrated harmonic analysis up to the 41st harmonic for comprehensive power quality monitoring.
- Direct calculation of current (I1, I2, I3, In), voltage, effective power, reactive power, apparent power, energy, power factor, and frequency.
- High electrical isolation of 4500 V for robust safety in industrial electrical environments.
- Compact 24 mm terminal housing featuring integrated diagnostic and status LEDs.
- Supports optional single-phase operation configuration.
Applications
- Industrial energy management and consumption monitoring.
- Power quality analysis and harmonic distortion measurement in manufacturing plants.
- Machine control and predictive maintenance via load profiling.
- Sub-metering and cost-center allocation in heavy industrial facilities.

Installation Guidelines
-
Mounting: Install on a standard 35 mm DIN rail conforming to EN 60715, ensuring the lock mechanism is fully engaged.
-
Side-by-Side Assembly: Secure terminal connection using the double slot and key system to guarantee reliable data pathing on the E-bus.
-
Wiring: Insert conductors using a compatible screwdriver to actuate the spring clamp. Ensure a stripping length of 8 to 9 mm for optimal electrical contact.
-
Earthing: Connect the DIN rail to a clean functional earth (FE) to minimize high-frequency noise interference and guarantee measurement accuracy.
