Description

The BECKHOFF EL3773 is a high-performance, multi-function 3-channel analog input EtherCAT Terminal designed for 3-phase power monitoring of both alternating and direct voltage systems. It is engineered to capture instantaneous voltage and current values simultaneously using an oversampling function, making it highly suitable for grid analysis, transient monitoring, and detailed power quality measurements in demanding industrial environments.

Operating with a high conversion speed, the terminal captures three voltage channels and three current channels with high temporal resolution. The device acts as a specialized measuring interface within the modular Beckhoff I/O system, transmitting digitized raw values directly to the controller via the high-speed EtherCAT protocol. Installation Guidelines

1. Ensure that the entire system power supply is completely de-energized before mounting, wiring, or removing the terminal.
2. Mount the terminal on a standard 35 mm DIN rail (conforming to EN 60715). Slide the terminal along the rail until the latch engages securely.
3. Ensure the adjacent EtherCAT Terminals are aligned correctly to establish reliable E-bus contacts.
4. Connect the voltage and current lines according to your system architecture, utilizing shielded cables for signal wiring to minimize electromagnetic interference.
5. Verify that the stripping length of the conductors is between 8 and 9 mm before inserting them into the spring-clamp contact points.
6. Configure the terminal within your TwinCAT engineering system, applying the appropriate oversampling factor and hardware filter parameters based on your application needs.
