Description

330706-05-046-10-02-00: This Bently Nevada 3300 XL 11 mm Reverse Mount Probe configuration is engineered with metric M10 x 1 threads, featuring a 5 mm unthreaded length (Option 05), a 46 mm overall case length (Option 046), a 1.0 meter total length (Option 10), and a Miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector (Option 02) without hazardous area agency approvals (Option 00). Unlike standard mount probes which thread from the outside of the machine case, reverse mount models are threaded from the inside, providing optimal clearance and secure mechanical mounting in confined internal spaces where an external installation is impractical.

The probe serves as a non-contacting eddy-current sensor within the 3300 XL 11 mm Transducer System, facilitating precise machinery protection measurements such as radial vibration, axial position, rotor position, and Keyphasor speed detection. It pairs directly with the 330780 Proximitor Sensor and the 330730 extension cable to achieve a calibrated 5.0 or 9.0 meter system. Engineered with patented TipLoc molding to bond the probe tip to the stainless steel body, and CableLoc technology to secure the triaxial cable to the tip with up to 330 N of pull strength, this probe delivers long-term durability in demanding industrial environments.

Features

  • Metric Reverse Mount Case: Built with metric M10 x 1 threads and a hex nut featuring pre-drilled safety wire holes for reliable internal casing installation.
  • Optimized Length Options: Configured with a 5 mm unthreaded length and a compact 46 mm case length to suit specific machinery clearance parameters.
  • Miniature ClickLoc Connector: Gold-plated brass coaxial connection locks firmly into place to eliminate signal loss and prevent loosening due to high vibration.
  • High Pull Strength: The CableLoc design delivers up to 330 N (75 lb) of mechanical pull strength between the probe cable and the probe body.
  • Robust Chemical Resistance: Features a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip securely bonded to the AISI 304 stainless steel case.
  • Premium triaxial FEP Cable: Fitted with standard 75 ohm triaxial cable insulated with fluoroethylene propylene (FEP) to resist heat and oil ingress.

Applications

This 3300 XL 11 mm reverse mount probe is utilized in heavy rotating machinery monitoring systems across power generation, oil and gas, and petrochemical refining. Typical applications include:

  • Steam and gas turbine shaft vibration and axial displacement monitoring
  • Centrifugal and reciprocating compressor rotor position tracking
  • Generator thrust bearing wear tracking and rotational speed detection
  • Industrial pump shaft motion and Keyphasor speed reference measurement
  • Internal housing transducer configurations where external threading access is restricted

Installation Guidelines

To ensure precise signal transmission and prevent physical damage to the 3300 XL 11 mm reverse mount probe, adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Mounting Access: Thread the probe directly from the inside of the casing or mounting block. Ensure the target surface is perpendicular and flat relative to the probe tip.
  • Tightening Torque: Do not exceed the maximum rated torque of 22.6 N-m (200 in-lb). It is recommended to secure the probe body to 7.5 N-m (66 in-lb).
  • Connector Locking: Align the brass ClickLoc connector ends and twist by hand until fully locked. Do not use mechanical tools such as pliers on the coaxial coupling.
  • Bend Radius: Route the probe cable ensuring a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 inch) is maintained along all support channels.

Compliance and Certifications

This configuration (Option 00) is designated for standard industrial use with no hazardous area approval requirements. For installations in classified environments, consult configurations utilizing the Option 05 Multiple Approvals package.
