Description

Fully threaded 3/8-24 UNF steel probe body (Option 00 unthreaded length) with a 6.5 in overall case length (Option 65) and a 0.5 m total probe length (Option 05) defines this 330909-00-65-05-02-00 armored 3300 NSv Proximity Probe. This non-contact eddy-current transducer is designed for machinery with small targets, limited clearances, and small-bore geometry where standard-sized probes cannot be deployed.

This configuration incorporates flexible, uncoated stainless steel armor that shields the 75-ohm FEP-insulated coaxial cable against industrial fluids, abrasion, and mechanical cutting. Equipped with Option 02, the probe has an integrated miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector on standard cable and is supplied without agency hazardous area approvals (Option 00) for general-purpose machinery monitoring installations. It is fully compatible with the 3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor and matched 3300 NSv extension cables.

Features

  • Unthreaded Length (Option 00): 0.0 inches (fully threaded) allows for flush or deep casing mounting configurations.
  • Overall Case Length (Option 65): 6.5 inches (165 mm) reach, providing installation flexibility in thick casing walls or deep mounting blocks.
  • Total Length (Option 05): 0.5 meters (20 inches) of integrated cable, minimizing slack inside the machine casing.
  • Connector and Cable Type (Option 02): Standard 75-ohm coaxial cable terminated with a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector.
  • Integrated Armor Protection: Flexible AISI 302 stainless steel armor shields the probe lead from physical impacts and cutting hazards.
  • General Purpose Option (Option 00): Optimized for standard, non-classified machinery monitoring applications without regulatory agency overhead.

Applications

This proximity probe is used for axial position, radial vibration, and shaft speed monitoring on the following machinery:

  • Small-bore industrial rotating equipment and auxiliary pumps.
  • Aeroderivative gas turbines with limited target geometries.
  • High-speed centrifugal compressors and turbochargers.
  • Precision radial and thrust bearing assemblies where cross-talk must be managed in tight spaces.

Installation Guidelines

  • Thread Engagement: Do not exceed the maximum thread engagement length of 0.563 inches (14.3 mm) for 3/8-24 threads to prevent casing damage or binding.
  • Torque Limits: Tighten the 3/8-24 UNF probe case to a recommended installation torque of 11.3 N-m (100 in-lb), and do not exceed the maximum limit of 33.9 N-m (300 in-lb).
  • Gap Setting: Align the probe tip to a physical gap of 1.0 mm (40 mils) from the target shaft at static conditions to ensure centering in the linear electrical range.
  • Connector Protection: Always clean and dry ClickLoc connectors prior to assembly. Apply silicone self-fusing tape or install connector protectors to prevent turbine oil or environmental moisture from ingress.
  • Cable Routing: Ensure the armored probe cable maintains a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to prevent damaging the internal coaxial conductors.
