Description

The Emerson PR6423/10R-030-CN is a radioactive radiation resistant non-contact eddy current displacement transducer designed for measuring position or shaft movement without contacting the target surface. Constructed for nuclear radiation zone 1 applications, this sensor enables non-contact measurement of static and dynamic shaft displacement, including axial and radial shaft displacement (position), shaft eccentricity, and shaft vibration (motion). It directly measures shaft motion and position on sleeve bearing machines where vibration signals are otherwise attenuated by the bearing oil film. The unit features a radioactive radiation resistant design suitable for turbomachinery, reactor coolant pumps, motors, pumps, fans, and blowers, and operates in conjunction with signal converters such as CON 011/91, 021/91, and 041/91.

Features

  • Measures static and dynamic shaft displacement, axial/radial shaft position, shaft eccentricity, and shaft vibration (motion).
  • Radioactive radiation resistant construction designed for nuclear radiation zone 1 applications.
  • Non-contact eddy current transducer design for direct shaft measurement without touching the rotor surface.
  • Maintains compliance with international standards DIN 45670, ISO 10817-1, and API 670.
  • Employs stainless steel sensor body material with special EPDM O-ring sealing and cable isolation with PVC.
  • Constructed with a PEEK non-electrical adapter plug component.
  • Includes open cable end with blunt cut cable ends designed for screw terminal connection.

Applications

  • Vibration, eccentricity, thrust (axial displacement), differential expansion, valve position, and air gap measurement on machine shafts.
  • Nuclear radiation zone 1 applications on turbomachinery and reactor coolant pumps.
  • Industrial monitoring on motors, pumps, fans, and blowers.
  • Direct shaft displacement monitoring on sleeve bearing machines.

Installation Guidelines

  • Mount the non-contact eddy current sensor through or inside the bearing to measure shaft motion and position directly.
  • Ensure target surface diameter exceeds 25 mm (.98 in) to prevent measuring errors greater than 1%.
  • Set the nominal physical gap to 1.5 mm (.06 in) corresponding to the center of the linear measuring range.
  • Connect the open cable end with blunt cut wires directly into screw terminals of compatible signal converters (CON 011/91, 021/91, or 041/91).
  • Keep ambient temperatures along the cable run within the maximum allowable limit of +80 degC (+176 degF).

Compliance and Certifications

  • DIN 45670
  • ISO 10817-1
  • API 670
  • Radioactive Radiation Resistant (Zone 1)
