Description

The GE Energy IS420UCSCH1B is a UCSC Quad Core Controller Module manufactured by GE Energy for the Mark VIe Series. Designed for high-speed, highly-reliable industrial applications, this real-time hypervisor controller runs on a QNX Neutrino multi-task capable operating system powered by a 1.2 GHz AMD G-Series microprocessor.

Unlike other Mark VIe controllers that interface through a backplane, the unit does not use a backplane and hosts no local I/O applications. Its software and hardware architecture ensures no single point of application input is lost during maintenance or shutdown. The controller incorporates Embedded Field Agent (EFA) technology to enable Predix cloud-based applications and utilizes IONet interfaces for external data transfer.

Features

  • Real-time hypervisor controller operating on a QNX Neutrino multi-tasking OS.
  • Embedded Field Agent (EFA) technology supporting Predix cloud connectivity.
  • Backplane-free design ensuring no application input loss during repair or shutdown.
  • Integrated support for EFA, Embedded EtherCAT, and Embedded PPNG platform features.
  • Convection-cooled vertical mounting configuration.
  • Non-replaceable 4 A 125 V DC rated internal surge protection fuse.

Applications

  • High-speed industrial turbine control and process automation.
  • Predix cloud-connected industrial edge computing.
  • Simplex, Dual, and Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) control architectures.
