The CC-TDIL01 is standardly paired with the non-redundant Series C Digital Input Module CC-PDIL01. If your process requires high-availability configurations, you must select the CC-TDIL11 IOTA instead, which supports dual-redundant active/standby module pairings. Attempting to fit redundant digital input modules onto the CC-TDIL01 is physically prevented by the single-socket board layout.
When routing field power through the CC-TDIL01, ensure the external power distribution lines are sized appropriately to handle cumulative current surges. Sudden load drops on field switches can trigger minor EMI transients across adjacent terminals on the assembly board if the system's power supply lacks adequate surge-damping characteristics.
Ensure that all cable shields are terminated at a single point, preferably at the cabinet ground bar, and never daisy-chained across the module's 24V common terminal blocks. During commissioning, loop resistance checks must be completed before inserting the CC-PDIL01 active module to prevent damage to internal sensing resistors from short circuits in the field wiring.
