Description

Integrating PROFIBUS DP fieldbus networks into Omron PLCs is simplified with the CJ1W-PRM21 CPU Bus Unit. Designed for high-speed decentralized control, this module acts as a PROFIBUS DP-V1 Class 1 and Class 2 Master, enabling seamless data exchange between the host controller and decentralized field devices. This module mounts directly onto a CJ-series CPU Rack or Expansion Rack, and is also fully compatible with NJ-series Controller Units. Utilizing standard RS-485 physical layer communication with galvanic isolation, it ensures reliable signal integrity in challenging industrial environments.

Features

  • Supports both PROFIBUS DP and DP-V1 protocols (Class 1 and Class 2 Master functionality).
  • Configurable node address range from 0 to 125 using network configuration software.
  • Physical interface features a galvanically isolated RS-485 port with a standard 9-pin sub-D female connector.
  • Accommodates up to 16 master units per NJ-series controller system.
  • Rotary switches on the front panel allow hardware assignment of CPU Bus Unit numbers from 0 to F Hex.

Applications

  • Automated manufacturing and assembly lines.
  • Process control and packaging systems.
  • Water and wastewater management infrastructure.
  • Integration of multi-vendor field devices into Sysmac CJ1/NJ control architectures.
