The IP5109-B310 operates as a standard PROFIBUS DP slave box. For environments transitioning to modern Ethernet-based protocols, consider migrating to Beckhoff's EtherCAT EP series modules, which will require updated physical cabling and network topology adaptations.
Avoid running power cables adjacent to communication lines without proper shielding.
