Ensure the protective relay chassis is completely powered down before servicing. Align the module card perfectly with the chosen rear-panel slot track on the Universal Relay housing and slide the component forward until it registers securely with the internal active backplane interface.
All current transformer secondary inputs must be routed through an external mechanical shorting block array prior to making connections with the rear terminal points. Never allow a current transformer secondary circuit to become open-circuited while primary grid load current is flowing.
The terminal blocks associated with this measurement module accommodate a maximum wire cross-section of 10 American Wire Gauge (AWG). For typical standard substation installations, the use of 12 American Wire Gauge (AWG) copper conductor cabling rated for a minimum temperature threshold of 90 degC is recommended.
Keep all low-voltage analog terminal runs separated from noisy digital communication buses or unshielded auxiliary DC control wiring loops to prevent induced magnetic cross-talk from degrading accuracy calculations.
