Description

Option 05 (5 mm unthreaded length) and Option 02 (Miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector, standard cable) specify this 3300 XL 11 mm reverse mount probe configuration — 330706-05-46-10-02-00.

This metric reverse mount probe configuration features M10 x 1 threads, allowing for direct mechanical installation through machine housings or specialized mounting sleeves where standard threading is not applicable. It pairs with a 3300 XL 11 mm extension cable and Proximitor sensor for non-contacting vibration and displacement measurement. Unlike variants with longer integrated cable runs like 5.0-meter or 9.0-meter probes, this 1.0-meter cable configuration minimizes internal machinery cable routing, connecting to an external extension cable immediately outside the machine casing. It does not carry hazardous area certifications, making it ideal for standard safe-area industrial environments.

Features

  • Metric M10 x 1 reverse mount threading allows for secure direct installation through external machine cases.
  • Short 5 mm unthreaded length (Option 05) paired with a 46 mm overall case length (Option 46) is ideal for low-profile envelopes.
  • Compact 1.0-meter (3.3 feet) integrated FEP-insulated probe cable (Option 10) prevents excess cable slack inside the machine.
  • Gold-plated brass Miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector (Option 02) locks into place, preventing loose connections due to vibration.
  • Option 00 indicates that agency approvals are not required, matching safe-area machine configurations.
  • High-strength TipLoc molding provides a structural bond between the polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip and the AISI 304 stainless steel case.
  • CableLoc design provides up to 330 N (75 lb) of cable-to-probe-tip pull strength.

Applications

  • Axial (thrust) position measurements on steam turbines and other heavy rotating machinery.
  • Radial vibration and position monitoring in fluid-film bearing environments.
  • Ramp differential expansion measurements on industrial turbomachinery.
  • Rod position or rod drop monitoring on large reciprocating compressors.
  • Speed sensing, tachometer, and Keyphasor phase reference signal generation.

Installation Guidelines

When installing this reverse mount probe, verify that the mechanical threads (M10 x 1) are clean and free of burrs. Gently thread the probe body into the reverse mount bracket or sleeve from the back. Set the probe gap to the recommended nominal distance of 2.5 mm (100 mils) using a micrometer or by reading the voltage from the Proximitor sensor's test points. Tighten to the recommended installation torque of 7.5 N-m (66 in-lb), taking care not to exceed the maximum rated torque of 22.6 N-m (200 in-lb). Maintain a cable bend radius of at least 25.4 mm (1.0 in) throughout the cable routing path to protect the internal triaxial conductors. Ensure ClickLoc connections are protected from machine fluids and moisture with the provided silicone tape or a dedicated connector protector kit.
