Description

Option 00 (0.0 in unthreaded length) and Option 12 (Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector, FluidLoc cable) specify this armored 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Probe configuration — 330708-00-20-10-12-00.

This 5/8-18 UNF-threaded eddy-current probe is used in 3300 XL 11 mm proximity transducer systems for non-contacting vibration and displacement measurements on fluid-film bearing machinery. Featuring a larger 11 mm tip diameter, this sensor operates over an extended linear range compared to standard 8 mm systems, rendering it suitable for long-stroke applications such as steam turbine ramp differential expansion and rotor position tracking. This variant is equipped with integrated stainless steel armor to shield the 75-ohm triaxial lead against severe environmental and physical hazards, and uses a FluidLoc cable to prevent fluid migration along the cable interior.

In contrast to sibling standard-mount probes such as the 330707, which is unarmored, or the 330701, which uses smaller 1/2-20 UNF threads, this configuration is specific to a 5/8-18 UNF housing with a 2.0-inch overall case length (Option 20) and a 1.0-meter total cable length (Option 10). It is terminated with a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector and is designed to operate without regional or hazardous area approvals (Option 00), routing directly to a compatible 3300 XL 11 mm Proximitor sensor.

Features

  • Option 00 fully threaded design delivers 0.0 inches of unthreaded length for flush-mount or close-tolerance ports.
  • Option 20 establishes a 2.0-inch overall case length to fit standardized mechanical housings.
  • Option 10 total length provides 1.0 meter (3.3 feet) of integrated triaxial cable.
  • Option 12 features a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector and FluidLoc cable to block interior fluid ingress.
  • Integrated AISI 302 stainless steel armor protects standard cabling from mechanical abrasion and cuts.
  • Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip material withstands extreme process conditions and chemical exposure.
  • AISI 304 stainless steel case construction offers structural stability.

Applications

  • Ramp differential expansion measurements on industrial steam turbines
  • Axial (thrust) shaft position measurements on critical rotating machinery
  • Rotor dynamic vibration monitoring on fluid-film bearing assemblies
  • Tachometer, zero-speed, and phase reference (Keyphasor) signal capture
  • Rod position or rod drop tracking in reciprocating compressors

Installation Guidelines

Maintain hand-tight status initially during thread engagement to avoid cross-threading. Secure the probe case utilizing the recommended torque of 15.2 N-m (133 in-lb), and do not exceed the maximum rated torque limit of 45.2 N-m (400 in-lb). Ensure that the maximum thread engagement does not exceed 0.938 inches inside the mounting port to prevent binding. Route the armored FEP cable with a bend radius of no less than 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to prevent internal physical damage. While the FluidLoc design prevents interior moisture migration, standard field-sealing procedures must be followed for external connector protection.

Compliance and Certifications

  • Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC): Compliant with EMC Directive 2014/30/EU via EN 61000-6-2 (Immunity) and EN 61000-6-4 (Emissions).
  • RoHS: Compliant with European Community Directive 2011/65/EU.
