Description

Option BR (3300 XL 8 mm probe with INMETRO approvals) and Option 04 (40 mm standoff adapter) specify the configuration of this metric integrated proximity transducer assembly — 330881-BR-04-110-06-02 PROXPAC XL proximity transducer. The self-contained design integrates a 3300 XL Proximitor sensor directly into the housing cover, eliminating the need for separate extension cables and external Proximitor junction boxes. Field wiring connects directly inside the terminal area, simplifying layout and reducing total system wiring complexity.

The molded polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) thermoplastic housing is reinforced with glass and conductive fibers, providing mechanical strength and dissipating electrostatic charges in hazardous areas. This configuration features a 110 mm probe penetration sleeve, NPT conduit fittings, and a 3/4-14 NPT mounting thread. It operates using non-contact eddy-current technology to measure dynamic shaft vibration and axial position on industrial rotating machinery.

Features

  • Molded polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) thermoplastic housing rated for Type 4X and IP66 severe environments.
  • Glass and conductive fibers incorporated into the PPS material to safely dissipate electrostatic charges.
  • Self-contained design with the Proximitor sensor integrated in the housing lid to eliminate external probe-to-sensor cabling.
  • Threaded sleeve adjustment mechanism allowing up to plus or minus 12.7 mm of axial movement for fine gap positioning.
  • Internal vibration isolation utilizing extra-soft cellular silicone to protect internal components from structural vibration.
  • Field wiring terminals designed to accept tinned wire sizes from 0.2 to 1.5 mm2 (16 to 24 AWG).

Applications

  • Dynamic shaft radial vibration monitoring on critical rotating machinery.
  • Axial shaft position and thrust displacement measurements on utility and industrial machinery.
  • Applications requiring INMETRO (Brazil) hazardous area approvals for safe operation.
  • Corrosive or high-moisture processing environments where Type 4X and IP66 environmental sealing is required.

Installation Guidelines

The integrated transducer is mounted using the 3/4-14 NPT threads. The axial sleeve provides up to plus or minus 12.7 mm of threaded travel to accurately adjust the probe gap prior to final locking. For penetration lengths ("B" standoff plus "C" penetration) exceeding 305 mm, an additional sleeve support must be installed near the probe tip to minimize resonance and deflection. Terminate the field wiring inside the housing cover using tinned conductors sized between 0.2 and 1.5 mm2 (16 to 24 AWG).

Compliance and Certifications

  • INMETRO (Brazil) Hazardous Area Approvals for Intrinsic Safety and Non-Incendive installations.
  • CE Mark compliant.
  • RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU compliant.
  • IP66 and Type 4X environmental protection classifications.
