Description

Option 02 (0.2 in unthreaded length) and Option 01 (coaxial ClickLoc connector with connector protector, standard cable) specify this 1/4-28 UNF threaded standard mount probe configuration — 330901-02-24-10-01-00, a non-contacting 3300 NSv Proximity Probe. It is part of the 3300 XL NSv proximity transducer system and is used for shaft vibration and axial position measurement on high-speed machinery with limited target geometry. The smaller probe tip design allows displacement measurement in narrow envelopes and on small shaft diameters where standard 8 mm probes are geometrically restricted.

Unlike armored configurations like the 330902, the 330901 features an unarmored 75 ohm coaxial cable with a fluoroethylene propylene (FEP) outer jacket. The inclusion of Option 01 adds a pre-installed fluorosilicone connector protector to safeguard the miniature male ClickLoc coaxial connector against environmental contaminants, machine fluids, and process moisture in confined casing environments. This probe connects directly to a 3300 XL NSv extension cable and a 3300 XL NSv Proximitor sensor to complete the sensor chain.

Features

  • Option 02 specifies a 0.2 inch (5.1 mm) unthreaded length with a 2.4 inch (61.0 mm) overall case length
  • Option 10 provides a 1.0 meter (39 in) total probe length
  • Option 01 includes a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with an integrated fluorosilicone connector protector
  • Standard 1/4-28 UNF-2A threaded probe body without stainless steel armor protection
  • TipLoc molding method creates a strong molecular bond between the PPS probe tip and the stainless steel case
  • CableLoc design attaches the FEP-insulated coaxial cable to the probe assembly with up to 220 N (50 lb) of pull strength
  • Option 00 designates that standard agency approvals are not required for this configuration

Applications

Common applications for this transducer configuration include:

  • Radial shaft vibration and axial position monitoring in small-bore rotating machinery
  • High-speed centrifugal compressors and industrial turbochargers with restricted access
  • Aeroderivative gas turbines and auxiliary power units with limited probe installation space
  • Fluid-film bearing clearance measurements where target shaft diameter is under 20 mm (0.8 in)

Installation Guidelines

Maintain proper target clearance and avoid mounting the probe in locations where the target diameter is smaller than 20 mm (0.8 in) to prevent changes in the Average Scale Factor (ASF). Ensure the probe-to-extension cable ClickLoc connectors are fully locked in place. The pre-installed fluorosilicone connector protector on the cable connector must be slid over the connection to prevent process fluids and moisture from degrading the electrical signal. For high-humidity or fluid-exposure locations, use of silicone self-fusing tape can provide additional environmental isolation. Do not exceed the maximum rated installation torque of 1.7 N-m (15 in-lb) for standard 1/4-28 threads.

Bently Nevada 330901-02-24-10-01-00 3300 NSv Proximity Probe

What does the 330901-02-24-10-01-00 part number represent?

This part number specifies a 3300 NSv standard mount proximity probe with a 1/4-28 UNF thread, 0.2-inch unthreaded length, 2.4-inch case length, 1.0-meter cable, standard FEP unarmored lead with a connector protector, and no hazardous area approvals.

What is the purpose of the connector protector under Option 01?

The connector protector is a fluorosilicone sleeve that seals the connection between the probe cable and the extension cable. It prevents liquids like turbine oil and ambient moisture from entering the coaxial ClickLoc connectors.

How does the 3300 NSv probe tip compare to standard 3300 XL probes?

The 3300 NSv probe has a smaller tip diameter of 5.26 mm (0.207 inches), making it suitable for compact installations, narrow shaft targets, and environments with tight spatial envelopes where 8 mm probes cannot fit.

What target material is this proximity probe calibrated for?

The transducer system is calibrated standard to AISI 4140 steel. Using other target materials will affect the scale factor and linear range unless calibration is adjusted.
