The BECKHOFF IP2321-B400 is a decentralized IP2321 series Fieldbus Box designed for machine-level automation without the need for a control cabinet. Functioning as an Interbus slave device, this module integrates digital signal processing directly into the field environment. It features a combined channel architecture consisting of digital inputs and digital outputs, allowing bidirectional signal exchange with sensors and actuators in harsh industrial conditions.

Constructed within a rugged, fully potted polycarbonate housing with IP67 protection, the IP2321-B400 withstands dust, moisture, and mechanical stress typical of decentralized plant engineering. Interbus communication and power supplies are connected via M8 screw-type connectors, while field devices interface through standard M8 sockets.
