Installation Guidelines

Ensure the following engineering guidelines are followed during installation of the proximity probe:

• Do not exceed the maximum rated installation torque of 5.1 N m (45 in lb) for 1/4-28 probe cases to avoid damage to the threads or case.
• Maintain a minimum probe-to-probe separation of 25 mm (1.0 in) for axial position or 23 mm (0.9 in) for radial vibration measurements to prevent electrical cross-talk.
• Avoid mounting probes near external magnetic fields to prevent interference with eddy-current signal generation.
• Always check that the combined length of the probe and extension cable matches the total calibrated system length of the Proximitor Sensor (either 5.0 meters or 7.0 meters).
