Description

The 3500/15-05-00-CN is a half-height module designed to power the 3500 Series Machinery Protection System. It must be installed in designated slots on the left side of the 3500 rack to convert a wide range of input voltages into regulated voltages required by other system modules. The 3500/15-05-00-CN functions as a universal AC power supply and operates alongside a universal AC Power Input Module (PIM). The 3500 rack can hold either a single supply or two redundant power supplies. In a dual configuration, the module in the lower slot acts as the primary supply, while the module in the upper slot serves as the backup supply. Redundant operation allows for the removal or insertion of either supply module without disrupting system operation.

Installation Guidelines

• Rack Positioning: Install the module only in the dedicated half-height slots located on the far left side of the 3500 rack.
• PIM Matching: Ensure the associated Universal AC Power Input Module (PIM) is mounted directly behind the power supply module in the rear of the chassis.
• Redundancy Allocation: For redundant configurations, locate the primary supply in the lower slot and the secondary backup supply in the upper slot.
• Electrical Safety: Connect the structural grounding system securely to the rear PIM ground terminal to reduce electrical noise and ensure safety.
• Compatibility Check: Verify that the universal AC supply and its corresponding PIM are not mixed or cross-connected with legacy Bently Nevada high/low voltage AC components, as they are incompatible.
