Product Description

Description

The Foxboro FBM233 P0926GX is an Ethernet Field Device System Integrator (FDSI) module designed for providing an Ethernet interface between single or dual-ported field I/O devices and the I/A Series system. The device integrates field device data into an I/A Series control database using Ethernet connectivity and communicates with field devices using configurable, downloadable software I/O drivers over 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps Ethernet network transmission rates. It mounts in a Modular Baseplate, interfacing with the system via a redundant 2 Mbps module Fieldbus to an FCM100Et, FCM100E, or FCP270.

Features

  • Redundant 10 Mbps or 100 Mbps Ethernet network transmission rate to/from field devices.
  • Communicates with up to 64 field devices.
  • I/O software driver is downloadable from a library of available protocols.
  • Up to 2000 DCI block connections.
  • Integrates field device data into an I/A Series control database using Ethernet connectivity.
  • Field mounted.
  • Suitable for Class G3 (harsh) environments.
  • LED visual indicators for operational status, transmit/receive activity, and master/tracker status.

Applications

  • Field device integration into I/A Series control stations
  • Industrial Ethernet communication interfacing with third-party PLCs and field devices
  • Distributed control interface (DCI) data collection and control output handling

Installation Guidelines

  • Mounting: The module mounts on a Modular Baseplate (DIN rail mounted or 19-inch rack mounted) in horizontal or vertical orientation.
  • Redundancy Positioning: Redundant module pairs must be located in odd and adjacent even positions on the baseplate (positions 1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6, or 7 and 8).
  • Hot Swapping: Module replacement can be executed without upsetting field input or output signals to the paired module and without removing power to other modules on the Modular Baseplate.
  • Cable Lengths: RJ-45 connections to Ethernet hubs, switches, or devices support cable lengths from 1 m (3.3 ft) up to 100 m (330 ft).
