Description

The Honeywell FC-SAO-0220m is a Safe Analog Output Module featuring two 0(4)–20 mA output channels engineered for high-integrity safety control applications within the Honeywell Safety Manager system. Operating as a critical output interface, the module converts internal digital system logic commands into precise analog current loops to regulate modulating final control elements, valves, and positioners in safety-critical loops.

Designed with internal safety architecture, each channel contains a 12-bit D/A converter for output signal generation and an integrated A/D converter that continuously reads back the actual output value. Within a configured Diagnostic Test Interval, the module automatically tests output channels for output value accuracy (within ±5%), de-energization capability, and cross-talk between outputs. Each channel features a secondary means of de-energizing (SMOD), enabling the watchdog and processor to de-energize the output independently of the application command value.

The Honeywell FC-SAO-0220m features conformal coating on all internal electronic assemblies (designated by the FC- prefix) to protect against airborne contaminants, dust, and aggressive industrial environments.
