Tutto sui PLC: la CPU
A practical engineering guide to PLC CPU operation, from deterministic scan cycles and I/O image tables to memory, communications, diagnostics, redundancy, processor sizing, and reliable system...
Facilitating multi-channel analog current loop control within high-density industrial control panels, the Omron CJ1W-DA08C provides eight independent analog output channels directly integrated into the CJ-series PLC architecture. This unit converts 16-bit digital values into precise, proportional 4 to 20 mA current loop signals for driving field actuators, control valves, and drive references. Utilizing an 18-point detachable terminal block, it allows system integrators to perform field wiring offline or swap modules without disturbing existing field terminations. Designed as a Special I/O Unit, it features configurable output hold logic, built-in engineering scaling, and dedicated diagnostic status indicators to maximize process uptime.

The CJ1W-DA08C is fully form-factor compatible with all Omron CJ1G, CJ1H, and CJ2M/CJ2H CPU racks. When migrating legacy networks from the CJ1W-DA08V (voltage variant), please note that the CJ1W-DA08C is dedicated exclusively to current loop operations and cannot be modified via software configuration to supply voltage outputs. Always verify that your power supply module on the PLC rack has sufficient 5 VDC capacity to cover the 140 mA drawn by this unit along with any associated communication modules.
A crucial architectural consideration when designing your panel layout is that there is no channel-to-channel isolation on the CJ1W-DA08C. All eight channels share a common return pathway. If your field actuators or drives operate with differing local electrical ground potentials, ground loops can develop, leading to signal instability, measurement drift, or hardware degradation. In systems requiring high-integrity isolation across channels, external 1:1 signal isolators must be mounted inline. Additionally, pay close attention to loop impedance: any load exceeding 350 Ohm will cause current clipping and lead to output calibration errors.
To minimize high-frequency noise interference, always run analog output signals in shielded twisted-pair cables, routing them through dedicated low-voltage wireways isolated from high-voltage AC lines. Terminate the cable shields exclusively at one end (preferably the cabinet ground bar near the PLC) to eliminate the risk of noise induction from ground loop currents. Use the detachable terminal block to complete all wiring adjustments on a bench before snapping the module onto the rack, protecting the sensitive internal photocoupler circuits from accidental contact with stray wire strands or active voltage pins.
CRITICAL WARNING:
Ensure that both the primary PLC backplane power supply and the external 24 VDC power supply connected to the unit are completely de-energized prior to inserting, extracting, or wiring the module. Performing actions while powered (hot-swapping) can induce physical damage to the module backplane connections or cause connected field actuators to activate unexpectedly.
