Installation Guidelines

1. 1 Ensure the control cabinet or rack is fully de-energized and locked out before beginning work. Verify the absence of voltage.
2. 2 Securely mount the SCALANCE switch into the 19-inch rack using the appropriate mounting hardware. Ensure adequate ventilation space around the unit.
3. 3 Connect a low-impedance protective earth (PE) conductor to the designated grounding terminal on the switch chassis. This is critical for safety and noise immunity.
4. 4 Connect the 24 V DC power supply wiring to the power input terminals, observing correct polarity. Use appropriately sized conductors for the load.
5. 5 Connect network devices using shielded Ethernet cables. Connect the error signaling contact wiring if required by the application.
