Description

The Yokogawa AFV30S-S41251/HKU is a 19-inch rack-mountable Field Control Unit (FCU) designed as the core component of the control function within the CENTUM VP integrated production control system. It processes process operations, manages field communications over dual-redundant Vnet/IP networks, and handles local and remote I/O data through FIO interface configurations.

This single-processor module platform supports up to 8 I/O modules directly on the rack assembly and connects to up to 13 ESB bus or optical ESB bus node units. Equipped with dual-redundant power supply modules operating at 220-240 V AC, this unit incorporates an integrated House Keeping Unit interface (/HKU option) that outputs FCU fault contacts, monitors cabinet environmental conditions via the HK bus and optical ESB bus, and displays system alarms directly on the Human Interface Station (HIS).

Installation Guidelines

  • Cabinet Mounting: Mount the unit on a standard 19-inch rack using M5x8 screws and the provided accessory insulating bushes (part number S9049PM).
  • Cabinet Enclosure Requirements: To meet safety standards and EMC requirements, install the control unit inside a keyed metallic cabinet.
  • ESB Bus Coupler Modules: Install ESB Bus Coupler Modules (EC401 or EC402) in slots 7 and 8 of the FCU to connect node units.
  • Optical ESB Bus Repeater Master Modules: When connecting remote nodes over optical fiber, install Optical ESB Bus Repeater Master Modules (ANT401 or ANT411) in pairs within slots 1 through 6, ordered from right to left.
  • Intrinsic Safety Partitioning: When using I/O modules with built-in barriers inside the unit, an insulating partition kit (Part No. T9083ND) must be installed.
