Description

The IS220YDOAS1A is a safety-certified discrete output module developed by General Electric for the Mark VIeS functional safety control system series. Functioning as a high-integrity Safety Discrete Output I/O Pack, the device establishes an intelligent electrical interface between redundant Ethernet control networks and discrete output terminal boards. Installation Guidelines

Hardware Integration & Alignment

Secure the corresponding discrete output terminal board firmly to the cabinet subpanel or DIN rail mounting grid. Align the rear DC-37 pin connector of the module with the receptor plug on the terminal board base. Press the module down vertically until the contact seating is secure, and tighten the mechanical retaining fasteners onto the mounting plate to prevent high-frequency mechanical loosening.

Ethernet Network Routing

Connect individual twisted-pair industrial Ethernet lines to the ENET1 and ENET2 RJ45 communication ports. To establish a fault-resilient dual-bus topology, route the cables through separate wireways within the panel enclosure to reduce cross-coupling and eliminate localized points of failure across independent network layers.

Hot-Swap Component Exchange

The module includes built-in inrush-limiting components on its internal power rails, allowing maintenance technicians to disconnect or insert the module while the system terminal boards are energized. When replacing a device under live conditions, disconnect the redundant network communication links and the side-mounted power supply input block prior to mechanical disengagement from the board.
