The 1734-IE2C is a 2-channel analog current input module designed for integration within the POINT I/O system architecture. The 1734-IE2C provides conversion of 4...20 mA and 0...20 mA field signals into 16-bit digital representation for process control systems. The unit sends 6 bytes of input data and fault status information across the backplane to the system controller, operating via DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, ControlNet, or EtherNet/IP adapters.

Installation Guidelines

  • Mounting Base Alignment: Mount the module into a compatible POINT I/O base assembly (1734-TB, 1734-TBS, 1734-TB3, 1734-TB3S, 1734-TOP, 1734-TOPS, 1734-TOP3, or 1734-TOP3S). Set the keyswitch to position 3 prior to installation.
  • DIN Rail Grounding: Install onto a zinc-plated chromate-passivated steel DIN rail to ensure proper chassis grounding. Secure the DIN rail every 200 mm (7.8 in.).
  • Enclosure Requirements: Mount in an open-style industrial enclosure rated for Pollution Degree 2 environments and compliant with specific application requirements.
  • Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): Touch a grounded object or wear an approved grounding wrist strap before handling the electronics.
  • Wiring Practices: Use shielded copper wire rated for 75 degC or higher with a maximum insulation thickness of 1.2 mm (3/64 in.).
