Description

The Allen-Bradley 1746-P2 is a modular system power supply unit in the SLC 500 product family. It provides regulated DC operating power directly across the 1746 chassis backplane to support SLC 500 processor units and I/O expansion modules. Operating on a wide AC line voltage range of 85–132V AC or 170–265V AC at 47–63 Hz, the module delivers an internal current capacity of 5A at 5V DC and 0.96A at 24V DC. The unit also includes an integrated 24V DC user power supply output capable of supplying up to 200 mA to external field devices.

Features

  • Delivers an internal backplane current capacity of 5A at 5V DC and 0.96A at 24V DC.
  • Features selectable AC line voltage operation for 85–132V AC and 170–265V AC at 47–63 Hz.
  • Includes an auxiliary 24V DC user power supply output rated for 200 mA across an 18–30V DC voltage range.
  • Provides 1800V AC RMS isolation for 1 second between input terminals and the chassis backplane.
  • Includes built-in overcurrent protection using a 1746-F2 or equivalent fuse (250V-3A, SANO SOC SD4, or BUSSMAN AGC 3).
  • Supports CPU hold-up time of 20 ms at full load and up to 3000 ms under no-load conditions.

Applications

  • SLC 500 modular chassis backplane power delivery.
  • Factory automation, control rack assemblies, and industrial processing machinery.
  • Auxiliary power supply source for external 24V DC field sensors and transducers.
