Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure backplane power is removed or the area is known to be nonhazardous prior to inserting or removing the controller or connecting cables.
  • Discharge potential static by wearing an approved grounding wriststrap and touching a grounded object before handling the module.
  • Mount the equipment inside a suitably designed open-type enclosure complying with appropriate flame-retardant ratings and accessible only with a tool.
  • Connect the 1756-BA1 battery correctly prior to placing the controller in service.
  • Align the module circuit board with top and bottom chassis guides and slide into the chassis slot until fully engaged.
  • Limit custom serial cable lengths to a maximum of 15.2 m (50 ft) and attach the shield at both ends.
