Description

The 2711P-RP8D is a DC-powered logic module for PanelView Plus 6 700-1500 terminals. It provides the processing, memory, operating system, communication, and storage functions required by the operator interface terminal.

The module attaches to a compatible 700, 1000, 1250, or 1500 display module. The modular construction supports field installation, component replacement, and terminal configuration without replacing the complete operator interface.

The logic module runs FactoryTalk View Machine Edition applications under Windows CE 6.0. It supports FactoryTalk ViewPoint for browser-based access to a running HMI application.

Built-in communication resources include Ethernet, RS-232, and two USB host ports. A separate network interface accepts optional communication modules for additional network connections.

Installation Guidelines

Disconnect terminal power before installing or replacing the logic module.
Disconnect all power and communication cables before replacement.
Wear an approved grounding wrist strap when handling the module.
Use a static-safe workstation when available.
Do not touch connectors, pins, or internal circuit components.
Place the display module face-down on a clean, flat, stable surface.
Align the logic module connectors with the display module connectors.
Push the module down until it is firmly seated.
Tighten the four captive screws to 0.58 N.m (5...7 lb.in).
Remove an installed communication module before replacing the logic module.
Attach the logic module before installing an optional communication module.
Do not connect or disconnect communication cables while power is applied.
Use a dedicated 24V DC SELV or PELV power supply where required.
Connect the terminal assembly to a low-impedance earth ground.
Do not connect DC+ or DC- to the earth terminal.
Store unused modules in static-safe packaging.
