Installation Guidelines

  • Chassis & Power Setup: Ensure a 1756 ControlLogix chassis and power supply are properly installed prior to module insertion.
  • Module Insertion: Align the circuit board with the top and bottom chassis guides and slide until top and bottom locking tabs snap into place.
  • Fiber-Optic Cables: Remove protective caps from receiver/transmitter ports and screw in fiber-optic connections finger-tight. Ensure proper signal direction (transmitter to receiver).
  • ESD Mitigation: Handle the equipment using grounded wriststraps and static-safe workstations to prevent internal electrostatic damage.
  • Enclosure: Install the open-type equipment in a suitable enclosure providing adequate environmental protection and tool-only interior access.
